teaching
MJ taught mainly broadcast and online courses at
American University. She was fortunate enough to teach not only undergraduates and graduate students in the full-time journalism program, but also graduate students in AU’s weekend Interactive Journalism and News Media Studies programs. As a Knight Fellow, she taught a group of 11 Romanian students in Bucharest. One of their primary tasks each month was to create a student newspaper. Here's a link to the site as well as the current edition.

syllabi

Here are a few syllabi from MJ’s AU course. The links take you to word documents. (sorry….) Fundamentals of Communication, In-Depth Journalism from the Interactive Journalism program and Digital Skills.

tutorials

During the Fall 2003 semester MJ and Prof. Wendell Cochran taught Digital Skills for reporters to the journalism graduate students. They created a number of step-by-step hand-outs for the students on how to use various technology. The links take you to a couple of those word files. Dreamweaver and Advanced Dreamweaver.
